Lathan Warlick is an American singer and rapper.[1] He came to prominence after releasing covers of pop songs on TikTok, and signed for RECORDS Nashville in 2020.[2]
Early Life[]
Warlick was raised in Jackson, Tennessee.[3]
Career[]
Warlick began his career as a choreographer, before moving into rap music.[2] His debut single, 'How We Livin', was released in 2015.[4] In 2019, he began covering pop songs, gaining prominence by posting these covers on TikTok.[1] This led to him being selected by the platform as part of its incubator program for black creators.[3]
Warlick signed for label RECORDS Nashville in 2020. In 2021, hereleased the album My Way, a recording featuring country acts including Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line and RaeLynn.[2]
In July 2022, Warlick released the first single from his EP Let’s Be Honest, a collaboration with Blessing Offor entitled 'Look Up To The Sky'.[5] The EP was released in August 2022.[6]
Faith[]
Warlick grew up in a Christian household, however became a Christian after being threatened with a gun.[1] Recounting the instance in a 2021 interview, he remarked 'I remember looking up and I asked God, I said, ‘God, if you’re real like everybody says you are, then prove that you’re real and get me out of this situation.’ And just like that God intervened and got me out of that situation'.[7]
Warlick states that his motto is 'God, Love & Unity'.[1]
