Five Iron Frenzy was an eight piece Third-Wave Ska band from Denver, Colorado formed in 1995.[1] They played their final show in November, 2003.[2]
History[]
Five Iron Frenzy was formed in 1995, by Reese Roper, Scott Kerr, Keith Hoerig and Micah Ortega. They were later joined by Jeff Ortega, Dennis Culp, Brad Dunham and Andrew Verdecchio. The band signed with SaraBellum Records in 1996, releasing their debut album Upbeats And Beatdowns in the same year. The band released their second album, Our Newest Album Ever, in 1997.[1]
The group released the EP Quantity Is Job 1 in 1998.[3] In 1999, the group released a live album entitled Proof That The Youth Are Revoking.[4] In 2002, they released the album Electric Boogaloo.[5]
In 2003, the band announced they were to disband. They released their final studio CD in the summer of 2003, before conducting a farewell tour of the USA.[6] Reese Roper went on to perform under the name Roper.[7]
The band returned in 2013 to release the album Engine of A Million Plots.[8] The funds to record the album were raised through a Kickstarter campaign.[9] In 2021, the band released a new album, Until This Shakes Apart.[10]
