BarlowGirl are an American band, who released music in 2000s and early 2010s. The band consisted of Becca, Alyssa and Lauren Barlow.

Early Life

The Barlow sisters were born in Illinois. As children they learnt to play the piano, eventually going on to perform as a backing band for their father.

Career

After attending the GMA Music In The Rockies seminars, the group were signed to Fervent Records, with whom they released their self-titled debut album in 2004. Their second album, Another Journal Entry, was released in 2005, containing the song 'I Need You to Love Me', which spent 13 weeks at the top of the Billboard CHR chart.

In 2008, the trio embarked on a tour entitled Million Voices Tour, in support of Mercy Ministries, a charity providing support to women struggling with addiction and abuse. The group released Love and War in 2009, before releasig a greatest hits compilation entitled Our Journey... So Far in 2010.

In 2012, the trio announced their retirement. Their final song, 'Hope Will Lead Us On', was released in October 2012.

Faith

In an interview in 2008, Lauren Barlow described how God had helped her when she had been struggling with an eating disorder: 'God came in, and he changed my life. At that moment, I knew that I would offer everything in my life so that I could follow his calling. He began speaking to me. He wanted me to be in music.'
