Audio Adrenaline were an American four-piece band.
History[]
The band was formed under the name A-180 in 1986, in Kentucky, USA. After releasing an independent single entitled 'My God', the band were signed by Forefront Records. The band initially consisted of Mark Stuart, Barry Blair, Will McGinnis, Bob Herdman and Brian Hayes.[1]
Their first self-titled album was released in 1992.[2] Following albums included Don't Censor Me, Bloom and Live Bootleg.[1] In 1996, Blair left the band and was replaced with Tyler Burkum.[2] In 2001, the group released a Greatest Hits album, entitled 'Hit Parade'.[3]
In 2003, the band released an album entitled 'Worldwide', for which they won the Grammy award for the Best Rock Gospel Album in 2004.[4] The group split in 2006, citing Stuart's vocal cord injuries as the cause.[1]
In 2013, the band was reformed; McGinnis was joined by Kevin Max (formerly of Dc Talk), Jared Byers and Jason Walker, with Stuart involved with writing and production.[5] The band's first album under the new lineup was entitled 'Kings & Queens'.[3] In 2014, Max announced he was stepping down as lead singer of the band.[6]
In 2015, it was announced that Audio Adrenaline had re-formed with a completely new set of members; Adam Agee (formerly of Stellar Kart), Dave Stovall, Brandon Bagby and Jack Campbell.[7] Their first album, 'Sound of the Saints', was released in the same year, and reached number 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart.[8]
