Aaron Keyes (born September 8, 1978[1]) is an American Christian musician.

Early Life[]

Keyes grew up in South Carolina, USA. His father was a pastor.[2]

Career[]

Keyes released his first album independently in 2003. After using Paul Oakley and Stuart Townend songs within his worship, Keyes was introduced to Kingway Music; he was signed and released his first album with the label, Not Guilty Anymore, in 2007.[2]

In 2010, 'Jesus Loves Me This I Know', a song Keyes recorded with Ben Smith, reached number 50 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart.[3]

His second album with the label, Dwell, was released in 2011, and was produced by Stu G and John Hartley.[4]

In 2016, Keyes released a two-part live album, entitled 'Through It All'.[5]

Faith[]

Keyes grew up in a rule-based Christian environment where he learnt to fear God, however never felt he had given his entire life to Him. On becoming a Christian at University, he remarked 'I remember being caught up with my heart so full in the presence of God one evening, I could've burst'.[2]

When discussing Christian songs which speak about loving God, Keyes remarked 'I wonder if what we should be saying is how little we love him and we want to love him more. I can’t honestly week after week tell God ‘I love you with everything in me’ when I look at my life and I don’t!'[1]

Keyes is a worship pastor at Grace Fellowship Church in Atlanta.[2]
